KIDMIA, the name itself was selected to remind each of us of the commitment we were making to our kids. When
we first begun, it was more like an opportunity for all involved to socialize once or twice a week.

because it’s lots of fun to see my cousins and friends there and learn about our country Ethiopia.

seems like a big family.

Life in America is great but very hectic. There is a lot of pressures in the individual family and if we do watch out we
will be consumed with our individual daily lives and forget the community.

I want to thank you and everyone in Kidmia for the wonderful hospitality and for

Kidmia has really helped me learn my culture and where I came from.
At first, I did not know how to read , write or speak the Amharic language. Kidmia is also a good place to talk to
family members after class.

KIDMIA ranks as one of our top priorities in our household. We give it equal time and dedication as regular school
and/or work, if not more. We do that because of what it stands for and what it has done for our family and for our
community.

I do not know about anybody else, but Kidmia means a lot to my kids. They are always looking forward to it and
